About the role:
The Mining team is currently seeking a Load and Haul Supervisor to join the team.
Reporting to the Superintendent Load and Haul, you will be responsible overseeing the day-to-day operations of our open pit mines. You will ensure that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and sustainably. You will be instrumental in fostering a safety-first culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Duties:
- Oversee load and haul teams to meet production targets and objectives.
- Drive a safety-first approach to ensure compliance with all safety protocols and environmental policies.
- Allocate resources effectively, including equipment and personnel, to achieve optimal production outcomes.
- Monitor production operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize mining processes and resolve operational issues.
- Conduct and participate in regular team meetings, providing training and development opportunities to team members.
- Prepare and review production reports, ensuring accurate data recording and analysis.
Skills and Experience:
- Prior experience in a load and haul supervisor role within an open pit mine.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of mining operations and equipment, including up to 800-tonne dig units.
- Schedule 26 qualification is highly desirable
- Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.
- Manual C Class drivers licence required.
