About the role:

The Asset Management team is currently seeking a highly experienced Senior mechanical Reliability Engineer – Fixed Plant to join them on a 8/6; 4/3; 4/3 FIFO roster based at the Roy Hill Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability Engineering, you will be responsible for managing asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. This position shall encompass defect elimination, condition monitoring, risk management, life cycle asset management and other multidisciplinary activities as required.


Duties:

  • Assess and optimize equipment strategy based on lifecycle benefits considerations
  • Lead/facilitate investigations for equipment significant events across the organisation
  • Ensure defect elimination Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and actions are completed in a timely manner and with a high level of quality.
  • Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect plant performance.
  • Ensure early detection and prognosis of functional failure through condition monitoring
  • Contribute to the implementation, execution, and improvement of the Roy Hill Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) procedures and activities
  • Provide inputs into the long term plan and budget process

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Highly experienced with extensive fixed plant experience as a maintenance or reliability engineer
  • Understanding of asset maintenance, condition monitoring and analysis of relevant data
  • Experience in conducting root cause analysis and the application thereof
  • Experience working with processing (Wet Plant) assets, specifically scrubbers and filter belts
  • Experience in developing maintenance strategies and tactics from first principles
  • Experience in using SAP
  • Demonstrated experience working with conveyors, crushers, screens, apron feeders and balance machines
  • The ideal candidate should be a proactive and self-sufficient team player who is outgoing and collaborative, consistently contributing to a positive culture within the team.
  • Vibration Category II (VCAT 2) and Lubrication Category I (LCAT 1) with proven practical experience in both vibration and lubrication fields (Desirable)
