About the role:

The Asset Management team is currently seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer (Electrical) to join them on a 4/3; 4/3; 8/6 FIFO roster based at Port Hedland. Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability Engineering, you will work closely with production and maintenance in the integration of reliability practices for Fixed Plant facilities and infrastructure.

This role will require investigation of major events on critical equipment, ownership of effective maintenance strategies and continuous performance improvement initiatives.


Duties:

  • Support the delivery of safety behaviours to promote a high performing culture
  • Develop electrical maintenance strategies to achieve sustainable operations
  • Proactively identify and lead reliability analysis & improvement initiatives for electrical asset including but not limited to HV & LV switchgear, VSD, instrumentation across site. 
  • Monitor equipment performance and forecast equipment risk
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify the underlying causes of equipment failures and downtime.
  • Perform Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to prioritize potential failure modes based on their impact on system reliability and safety.
  • Implement Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to systematically evaluate potential failure modes and their effects on equipment performance.
  • Develop and document corrective and preventive actions based on RCA, FMECA, and FMEA findings to improve equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, analyse failure trends, and implement reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and track the effectiveness of implemented solutions to ensure sustained improvements in equipment performance.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on analysis findings and recommendations for management review.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and/or Post Grad Qualifications in Asset Management
  • Extensive experience in relevant electrical engineering field
  • Experience in working with material handling and high voltage equipment
  • Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, and Schneider LV/HV VSDs and switch gear, power management system, and protection relays
  • Knowledge and application of Reliability Centred Maintenance practises
