About the role:

Roy Hill understands the importance of our employee’s wellbeing and we are committed to providing genuine care, not only to our employees and contractors, but also their families. This is a rare opportunity to join Roy Hill, in a contract capacity, as a Relief Chaplain to provide a Chaplaincy presence across our business, supporting the emotional, psychosocial and spiritual wellbeing of the workforce by providing pastoral care, irrespective of faith, beliefs, or values.

 

We are looking for a Relief Chaplain who has the flexibility to travel to any Roy Hill location at short notice. Due to the nature of the role, the time spent away from home can vary depending on business requirements and will be based around an 8/6 roster.

 

About you:

By building meaningful relationships, immersing yourself in the Roy Hill community and offering authentic support in a safe and welcoming environment, you will be enhancing the experience of those living a unique mine (FIFO) lifestyle. Your expertise will be valued in maintaining Chaplaincy support in lieu of the permanent Chaplain, by giving feedback and handover information as required at the conclusion of a swing/shift. You will contribute to, and benefit from, participation in regular chaplaincy team events as determined by the Business Chaplain. When on site, you will provide an active and confidential nurturing presence based on listening, engagement and being available at all times (24/7)


Duties:

  • Provide intentional listening and pastoral care to all who seek support.
  • Have the flexibility to work in remote and isolated sites (FIFO).
  • Hold the ‘pastoral space’ and presence in lieu of the permanent Chaplain.
  • Be present to all levels and activities of the mine site as directed.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience within the resources industry
  • Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent
  • Cert IV in Chaplaincy
  • A Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline (Theology studies highly regarded)
  • Mental Health First Aid or equivalent training
