About the role:

The People team is currently seeking a Supervisor People Support Centre (Payroll) to join them on a Monday - Friday Roster based at our Perth office. Reporting to the Superintendent people Support Centre, you will be responsible for overseeing the PSC activities and team members in relation to ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee related transactions, including managing team performance; undertaking EC/ECP reconciliations and reporting; identifying, developing and maintaining procedures and documents relating to all payroll related processes; and processing governance. Additionally, the position recommends process improvements and addresses gaps in governance and process effectiveness.

 

This position will have x3 Officer People Support Centre and x1 Analyst People Support Centre as direct reports.


Duties:

  • Manage the PSC employee transaction processing team members and activities, ensuring timely processing of all employee pay transactions and allocation of work tasks.
  • Coach and support team members in resolving complex employee queries related to entitlements and pay.
  • Work with the Superintendent People Support Centre to action the monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting linked to leave, customer feedback and response time and error rate tracking.
  • Provide expert advice and support on complex payroll and HR data issues.
  • Provide timely resolution of escalated payroll issues and queries.
  • Execute fortnightly and regular audits of payroll processes and data to identify and rectify discrepancies.

  • Understand and lead the application and review of methodologies of leave calculations and maintain governance standards.
  • Lead the development and review of processes, WINS (Work Instructions), process maps, and procedures to ensure clarity and compliance with current and changing legislative requirements
  • Understand, apply and review methodology of leave calculations and maintain governance standards.
  • Recommend and build-in tighter controls and governance to payroll related processes.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary certificate or qualification in Payroll Administration or Business Administration, or related field
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team within a payroll and employee transaction processing related environment
  • Experience in a high volume payroll processing organisation, dealing with complex employment structures (allowances, deductions, work schedules rules, rosters, bonus’ etc)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of excel
  • Demonstrated experience with documenting processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated advanced experience with SAP and/or SuccessFactors payroll experience
