About the role:

The Technology Operations team is currently seeking a Senior Analyst Operational Applications to join them on a Monday-Friday roster based at Perth. Reporting to the Superintendent Operational Applications, you will be responsible for supporting operational applications in an aim for the business to fulfil its fully integrated vision and achieve maximum return on its investments via effective analysis, optimisation, maintenance and continuous improvement of its systems.

 

The incumbent will actively engage in enhancing the performance and capabilities of business-critical applications and demonstrate operational excellence with application management. Additionally, they will offer technical guidance and support to the team members, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of established process.  


Duties:

  • Proactively engage key decision makers, system owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operational requirements. 
  • Identify areas for improvement or refactoring to utilise improved technology or methods which can improve efficiency or resilience.   
  • Provide best practice for application management and able to train and support application analysts to ensure systems are applied appropriately in the dev/test and production environments. 
  • Identifying system issues, conducting advanced troubleshooting, and provide Level -2 escalations to vendors.
  • Expert knowledge to manage incidents, provide Incident support, able to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Communicate investigation outcome to various stakeholders and implement controls to rectify the issues.
  • Participate with the creation and maintenance of systems and project documentation, user manuals and training material.  
  • Liaise with project teams and vendors to provide technical assistance as necessary to meet outcomes. 
  • Approving system changes through the Technology Change Management process, implementing changes as required.
  • Provide peer review at design and development stages to assist in quality assurance. 

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Technology IT/OT or related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with Operational Applications, ServiceNow platform management, and IT service management processes in a mining or similar industry.
  • Experience in supporting the implementation, management, and maintenance of the operational applications.
  • General knowledge of the mining industry and emerging technologies.
  • Professional experience working with a SaaS and IaaS based platforms.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
