About the role

An opportunity currently exists for a Plant Controller to join our Integrated Remote Operations team in Perth. Reporting to the Supervisor Control, you will oversee the fixed plant infrastructure of the Roy Hill mine, which includes crushing, process plant, train load out, and port loading facility circuits, ensuring the safe and efficient maximisation of throughput rate and runtime. Additionally, you will control our extensive water network, which handles the movement of over 130 million litres of water daily.

 

Duties:

  • Ensure the safe and efficient processing of iron ore through the fixed plant equipment, including crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, and other associated equipment
  • Coordinate with the operations and maintenance teams regarding the scheduling of routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs
  • Analyse plant performance data and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, safety, and performance
  • Prepare for tasks as issued on the daily execution task sheets (DETS)
  • Accurately monitor the status of the fixed plant infrastructure to optimise the capability of the Roy Hill demand chain
  • Partner with site maintenance and maintenance planning regarding equipment faults, breakdowns, and shutdown planning

 

Skills and experience:

  • Prior experience in fixed plant control operations, preferably in the mining industry
  • Knowledge of fixed plant equipment, systems, and processes
  • Ability to analyse and interpret operational data to drive continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage different work priorities in a busy remote operations environment
