About the role:

Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for people, payroll, and process improvement? We’re looking for a confident and capable payroll expert who has extensive experience in payroll processes and systems, preferably using SAP Payroll or SF EC/ECP systems, to take the reins and help shape the future of employee experience at Roy Hill.

 

This is a chance to lead a dedicated team, optimise high-volume payroll operations, and foster a culture built on accuracy, continuous improvement, and exceptional service.

As the Payroll Supervisor, you’ll report to the Superintendent People Support Centre and be the go-to leader for all things related to payroll governance, employee transaction accuracy, and team performance.

 

You’ll lead and support a dedicated team of:

  • 3 x Officer
  • 1 x Analyst

 

Together, you'll ensure seamless delivery of employee-related transactions and payroll services, while driving initiatives that improve process efficiency and strengthen compliance.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading day-to-day operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of pay and employee transactions
  • Coaching team members and providing hands-on support with complex payroll queries and cases
  • Driving KPI performance and monthly reporting, linked to leave, service response times, feedback, and error tracking
  • Identifying and resolving payroll governance gaps and recommending system/process improvements
  • Conducting regular audits and reconciliation of employee central (EC/ECP) data and leave calculations
  • Overseeing the documentation and continual refinement of payroll-related processes, work instructions, and procedures

 

What You Bring

  • Proven leadership experience in a payroll or shared services team
  • Deep knowledge of complex, high-volume payroll environments, including diverse employment structures and entitlements
  • Monitoring of governance, audit, and process compliance
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coach and empower team members
  • High proficiency in Excel and analytical reporting

 

Desirable attributes

  • A tertiary certification or qualification in Payroll, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proficiency in SAP Payroll or SuccessFactors EC/ECP
