About the role

The Integrated Remote Operations team at Roy Hill is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of production activities across our mine, rail, and port systems. Operating from our state-of-the-art Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Perth, we integrate business systems, processes, and technology to maximise efficiency and productivity.

 

We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Mine Control Superintendent to join our Integrated Remote Operations team. Reporting to the Manager Control, you will lead and guide a team dedicated to the safe and effective control and monitoring of equipment, operations, and production. Your role will be crucial in ensuring collaboration and alignment of strategy and execution between site-based mining operations personnel and remote operations control teams. Additionally, you will identify and manage any risks or opportunities throughout the supply chain. This role includes direct leadership of Control Supervisors and a Trainer Assessor, who oversee a dynamic and extensive team of approximately sixty-five members.

Duties:

  • Be responsible for the culture, safety, and performance of the Mine Control teams
  • Provide relevant and timely information to all stakeholders in the execution of mine control processes 
  • Identify development needs to coach and mentor the team
  • Foster collaborative working relationships across the control teams and inter-departments and escalate issues to management when necessary
  • Negotiate with maintenance and production leaders to resolve competing requirements
  • Facilitate daily reviews of production KPIs, monitor data entry and validation processes, and ensure consistent performance and support across shifts
  • Define and support safety leadership behaviours that drive a high-performance culture

 

Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience within the mining industry, including experience in a senior position
  • Demonstrated experience supervising a team with the ability to coach and mentor others
  • Ability to analyse and interpret operational data to drive continuous improvement
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Passion and enthusiasm for technology and improving operational performance
  • Degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent industry experience
