About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Specialist to join the Roy Hill Procurement and Supply team.

 

This role lends itself to a confident, well spoken, and highly organised and efficient person with a strong sense of personal empowerment and drive to deliver a best for business outcome.

 

Reporting into the Superintendent Contracts, key duties would include:

  • Lead contract management, including standardisation and monitoring performance of Key Performance Indicators
  • Apply sound commercial judgement around the application of contractual terms and conditions
  • Provide commercial and contractual support to the business and effectively deliver value for the nominated categories through competitive sourcing and contract management
  • Foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support, to lead negotiations with vendors and provide ongoing contract management
  • Manage Supplier Relationship Management while working collaboratively with projects and cross functional stakeholders
  • Contract life-cycle support for all contractual and commercial activities and develop well defined category strategies
  • Actively participate and drive the business operating model within the team

 

Skills and experience

  • Extensive experience in contracts or category management, preferably in relation to Corporate and/or Technology contracts - mining and metals industry preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing category strategies delivering value for business
  • Experience in establishing and influencing a Supplier Relationship Management framework
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with team members and external parties, coupled with strong influencing skills to manage multiple work packages and interface with internal stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to influence with credibility, to encourage buy-in and commitment at all levels
  • Strong computer literacy and written skills (e.g. drafting concise award recommendations, drafting contract conditions, drafting contract correspondence and variations)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Legal (Construction Law) or related discipline is required
