About the role

Our finance team is currently seeking a Management Accountant - Operations to join them based at our Remote Operations Centre (ROC) near the Perth Airport. Reporting to the Finance Superintendent you will engage in a variety of accounting tasks and contribute to month-end activities. You will also provide targeted financial support for site and collaborate with the commercial analyst team on ad-hoc projects.

 

Duties

  • Support annual budgeting processes and monthly forecast processes with stakeholder engagement
  • Process month end accounting activities, including relevant accruals, provisions, allocations, and cost transfers
  • Manage the end-to-end monthly reporting cycle with detailed analysis
  • Provide senior management with strategic financial insights for business strategy formulation
  • Contribute to medium and long-term business planning and identify methods to optimise operational and production cost efficiencies, including productivity measurement
  • Assist with preparing and updating accounting manuals, policies, and procedures
  • Provide financial guidance on business decisions and evaluate business cases for capital proposals
  • Deliver professional financial assessments and recommend strategies to enhance business performance
  • Requirement to travel to site on a fortnightly basis

 

Skills and experience

  • Accounting, finance, commerce, or business degree or equivalent - CPA or CA accreditation will be well regarded
  • Intermediate/advanced level of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power BI proficiency
  • Exposure to SAP ERP system
  • Management accountant experience within a medium to large size organisation
  • Experience preparing monthly cost accounts and forecast reports
  • Ability to interact with and articulate financial requirements to internal and external stakeholders
