About the role:

We are excited to offer a 2-year fixed term traineeship program commencing in February 2025, exclusively for motivated individuals local to Port Hedland looking to kickstart their careers in the mining and resources industry. Working on a 14/14 days only roster this program provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and obtain a Certificate III in Resource Processing or Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure.

 

Traineeship Opportunities:

 

Trainee Port Operator (2 roles available): As a Trainee Operator in Port, you will be trained to operate and maintain port processing equipment, ensuring the efficient and safe handling of iron ore. You will gain valuable skills and knowledge in resource processing, preparing you for a rewarding career in the industry.

 

Trainee Rail Infrastructure (4 roles available): As a Trainee in Rail Infrastructure, you will be involved in the maintenance and repair of rail infrastructure, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of iron ore. You will receive comprehensive training in rail maintenance practices.

 

Duties:

  • Participate in structured training programs and on-the-job learning
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of port processing equipment or rail infrastructure
  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures at all times
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors
  • Complete all required assessments and coursework for the Certificate III qualification
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and development

 

Skills and Experience:

  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in the mining and resources industry
  • Willingness to commit to a 2-year traineeship program
  • High school certificate or equivalent
  • C Class Manual Drivers Licence
  • Ability to obtain Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) for Trainee Port Operator
  • Ability to pass a Cat 3 Medical for Trainee Track Maintenance
