About the role:

The Technology Operations team is currently seeking a Superintendent Site Technology to join them on a 4_3 FIFO Roster based at the Roy Hill Mine Site. Reporting to the Manager Technology Service Delivery, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all technology team members during their day-to-day activities, providing strategic management and development of the Site Technology function, driving continuous improvement across site technology teams, and serving as a senior technology point of contact for site leadership and operational escalations.

 

This role involves optimising work execution processes by ensuring effective planning and service delivery response while prioritising the safety and well-being of our team members. You will contribute to the Technology team's success by developing strategies that align technology with our business goals and foster a collaborative work environment. Building upon our existing strong team culture, you will lead our site technology teams to execute work efficiently and safely, ensuring the overall success and well-being of all team members.

 

This position will oversee a committed team of nine, who are part of an extended dynamic and diverse technology team. Your direct reports include two Engineer Communications based at the Mine, and one Supervisor Site Technology who’s team is based at both the Mine and Port Hedland.


Duties:

  • Ensure the safety of all technology team members during their day-to-day activities.
  • Provide strategic management and development of the Site Technology function.
  • Drive continuous improvement across site technology teams.
  • Serve as a senior technology point of contact for site leadership and site operational escalations.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans to ensure effective delivery of team responsibilities.
  • Monitor and analyse work execution activities (planned and unplanned), data quality, and trends to address planning, scheduling, and execution quality issues.
  • Support and improve proactive operational systems monitoring and reporting to identify system issues before they become business problems.
  • Monitor and manage assigned budgets, demonstrating financial prudence.
  • Ensure work is executed in line with Roy Hill’s established change management processes.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience leading a team of at least 10 people in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment, with a particular emphasis on implementing and managing safety protocols within an industrial or mining context
  • Substantial on-site experience in a resources environment.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams focused on operational excellence.
  • Proficient skills using software applications such as Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Database, and project management software.
