About the role:
 

The Mining team is currently seeking a Shift Superintendent.

Reporting to the Manager Load and Haul you will be responsible for championing
safety leadership behaviours that foster a high-performance culture. Be at the forefront of coordinating operational mining activities, ensuring that production targets are not just met but exceeded.


Ensuring personnel are appropriately supervised and trained, while providing guidance and direction to teams and individuals regarding outcomes, goals, progress, and development.

 

Duties:
 

  • Guide a team of mining supervisors to surpass daily production and safety benchmarks.
  • Oversee the integration and operation of Autonomous Haulage Systems, ensuring these systems are functioning optimally, reducing downtime, and improving efficiency in material transportation.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and reporting on a daily and weekly basis to pre-emptively identify and communicate potential challenges to meeting shift plans.
  • Maintain operational shift logs, fulfill statutory reporting requirements, and lead shift meetings to ensure a seamless operational flow.
  • Drive and uphold high operational standards, ensuring all activities align with design and schedule specifications.
  • Clearly establish lines of control and delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure optimal team performance.

 

Skills and experience:
 

  • Demonstrated experience in supervising large teams, with a proven track record of coaching and mentoring.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Autonomous Haulage Systems, including their integration and management in a mining environment.
  • A QM Certificate, a degree in Mining Engineering, or equivalent industry experience is required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a flair for planning, scheduling, and prioritizing work to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience in operating large mining equipment in a leadership capacity.
