About the role:

 

The Conveyor Maintenance team is currently seeking a Maintainer Belt to join them on a 14/14 Days Only Roster based at Port Hedland. Reporting to the Supervisor Conveyor, you will be responsible for the rapid response to equipment issues, minimisation of downtime and for maintaining tasks relating to all port mechanical and belt assets with attention to conveyors throughout the site, to a very high standard in a safe and efficient manner.


Duties:

 

  • Identification of belt damage, faults and determine method of repair (mechanical, vulcanized or cold)
  • Conveyor audits and inspections, including preventive maintenance (PM) inspections and computer-based inspection programs
  • Belt splicing, repairs, maintenance and installations of fabric and steel cord belts
  • Handling conveyor belt systems and associated components such as rollers, roller frames, belt tracking units, skirting systems, and belt cleaner systems
  • Work with specialised conveyor maintenance equipment as required; Vulcanisers, winders and winches

 

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Extensive on-site experience in conveyor maintenance
  • Must hold a current unrestricted West Australian “C” class licence
  • Valid certificates in High Risk Work Desirable (such as Forklift, Working at Heights, Confine Space Entry, Gas Testing, Riggers, Crane, Book Ticket) 
  • Ability to obtain Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC), hold an up to date first aid and certificate and be able to operate portable firefighting equipment
