Roy Hill is currently seeking an Engineer Mechanical Rail to join the team on a Residential 5:2 roster based in Port Hedland. Reporting to the Specialist Engineer Mechanical, you will be responsible to provide engineering support to the Rail Rolling Stock Team. Day to day duties include technical investigations, report writing, development and implementation of minor projects and reliability analysis.


Accountabilities include: -
• Provide technical input into the development of maintenance strategies and procedures aimed at ensuring safe and efficient facilities and rolling stock
• Assist in developing technical standards and provide the technical reports defined in the rail maintenance plan
• Assist with audits of mechanical equipment and documentation for regulatory compliance
• Assist with Registration of new rolling stock
• Conduct technical investigation of rail rolling stock issues and operational failures including recommending actions
• Develop and execute improvement projects
• Position will be site based. Periodic to frequent travel from Port Hedland to various rail sites to assist with technical investigations and field inspections

 

For you to achieve outstanding results in this position, your experience may include the following: -
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
• Demonstrated experience in rolling stock and reliability
• Awareness of the National Rail Safety Regulator Regulations
• Effective change management skills
• Experience in reporting systems and defining report requirements
• Project planning / management, prioritising and organising ability
