Roy Hill is currently seeking a Specialist Engineer Rolling Stock to join the Port Hedland team either on an 8/6 FIFO from Perth or Residential in Port Hedland 5/2 Roster.  Reporting to the Manager Rail Engineering, you will be responsible for maintaining high quality Asset Management Plans, maintenance procedures and maintenance tactics (using OEM recommendations and RCM methodology) as well as maintaining a high level of Rolling Stock reliability and availability.  This role will also drive the improvement of equipment reliability, lead improvement teams, and use Root Cause Analysis to solve equipment and process problems. The primary purpose of this role is to support the Rolling Stock Maintenance team to fault-find and solve problems leading to improved safety, reliability, and reduced costs.


Accountabilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead development and improvement of maintenance tactics in the rolling stock discipline
  • Lead the testing, commissioning, and handover of assets
  • Ensure all relevant standards, approvals and permits are in place
  • Provide technical input into the development of Asset Management plans, maintenance strategies and procedures
  • Provide technical input to all facets of Roy Hill’s Rolling Stock Condition Monitoring systems
  • Provide engineering input into annual and long-term budget planning for rolling stock
  • Develop technical documentation, Scopes of Work, and specifications for projects
  • Identify and implement appropriate change management actions
  • Develop and execute improvement projects
  • Liaise with OEMs as part of escalation process for fault finding and failure investigation
  • Mentor Rolling Stock Maintenance teams as they carry out change management for improvements

 

For you to achieve outstanding results in this position, your experience may include the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Engineering experience in rolling stock maintenance, design or reliability
  • Experience in Asset management and/or condition monitoring of rolling stock or track machines
  • Knowledge of rolling stock maintenance requirements
  • High level of technical document writing experience
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
