Roy Hill is currently seeking an Engineer Track & Civil to join the team on a FIFO 8:6 roster based in Port Hedland. Reporting to the Specialist Engineer Track & Civil, you will be responsible for providing engineering support to the Rail Track and Civil maintenance team and other stakeholders. Day to day duties include site inspections, reliability analysis and reporting, preparation of technical documentation, carrying out technical investigations, and development and implementation of minor projects. 

 

Accountabilities include: -
• Provide technical input into the development of maintenance strategies and procedures aimed at ensuring safe and efficient operation of the railway infrastructure
• Assist in developing technical standards and provide the technical reports defined in the rail maintenance plan
• Assist with audits of track & civil and documentation for regulatory compliance
• Develop technical documentation and specifications for rail operations, maintenance and projects
• Develop and execute improvement projects including management of associated external consultants and suppliers
• Undertake scoping of track and civil shut works, execute front-end engineering shut works, and providing site support during execution
• Review and updating of technical documents
• Carry out regular inspections of the rail infrastructure and ensure defects are appropriately managed and recorded in the relevant computer systems (RTCM and SAP).
• Assist with rail track condition monitoring and the analysis of data from the track recording vehicle and other systems/records used by the rail maintenance teams.
• Position will be site based in Port Hedland with frequent travel to all rail sites to undertake technical investigations, field inspections and execution of maintenance and construction works.

 

For you to achieve outstanding results in this position, your experience may include the following: -
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Demonstrated experience in heavy haul track and civil engineering
• Experience of the design, maintenance, approval and implementation of civil and engineering elements of rail including below ground structures, drainage and earthworks.
• Awareness of the National Rail Safety Regulator Regulations
• Experience in reporting systems and defining report requirements
• Project planning / management, prioritising and organising ability
