Roy Hill is currently seeking an Officer IT Support to join the team on a fly in fly out roster to Port Hedland. Reporting to the Supervisor Service Desk, you will be responsible for receiving, prioritising, documenting and to actively resolve end user help requests. The key focus being to ensure IT infrastructure and related systems maintain high availability so that business tasks are not compromised. 

Accountabilities include:

  • Fielding incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and e-mail in a courteous manner and providing first-line IT support for all computing, including hardware and software maintenance.
  • Documenting end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
  • Prioritising and scheduling problems then escalating problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
  • Recording, tracking, and documenting the service desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Performing hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.


For you to achieve outstanding results in this position, your experience may include the following: -

  • Tertiary qualifications and industry certifications such as VMWare, Citrix, MCSE would be well regarded.
  • A sound knowledge of the Windows Operating environment/Windows server network environment and Microsoft Exchange Office 365 environment will set you up for success
  • Hardware and Software Troubleshooting experience
