About the role: 

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer looking for a FIFO role where you can make an impact and directly contribute to the delivery of civil/ earthworks and Non-Process infrastructure (NPI) scopes. The role will be at the McPhee Creek and Marble Bar Road construction sites working on a 12 & 9 FIFO roster.

 

Reporting to the Package Manager and Construction Superintendent this role will be working across multiple work fronts, and you will ensure project completion is in accordance with the business and statutory requirements to achieve the delivery objectives. You will provide further support to the Construction Supervisors, Engineers, project delivery team and construction personnel.

 

 

Key duties: 

  • Provide technical advice, write and review scopes of works. 
  • Assist with the interface between engineering and construction team members, sub-contractors, and key stakeholders to provide solutions and support successful delivery of projects. 
  • Management of variations by analysing the implications of scope change on issues such as cost, safety, quality, and schedule. 
  • Assist in the management of all variation/TQ/RFI and action registers. 
  • Propose alternative solutions where established systems are unable to overcome project problems. 
  • Monitor the interaction of various disciplines and call on specialist knowledge when required. 
  • Manage the execution of scopes and projects
  • Ensure environmental, occupational health and safety obligations relating to project activities are fulfilled. 
  • Prepare management reports detailing project progress and commercial status.
  • Compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as amended from time to time, including the adoption of safe working practices at all times in accordance with Occupational Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements. 
  • Work with the engineering services and technical services teams to ensure all engineering projects and initiatives are executed in a timely and integrated, to maintain uninterrupted construction. 

 

To be success in this role, you will have: 

  • Minimum 8-10+years’ experience in mining and civil construction.
  • Previous experience with Civil and or NPI projects in mining is essential to be considered for this role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree), Project Management or related disciple. 
  • Experience in remote construction site works and project delivery. 
  • Experience in supervising, managing planning, scheduling, and monitoring scopes and contractors.
