About the Role

As the Package Manager for Water and Civil you will be leading the delivery of key projects which will include the delivery of accurate and cost-effective detailed design, accompanied by the safe execution and construction of the project, through to the point of end user handover in the major project environment and framework. The Package Manager will control the design, procurement and construction phases various projects to ensure completion in accordance with the requirements, within time and cost constraints to achieve delivery objectives.
 

Technical Duties

  • Lead engineering packages of work with the aim to deliver a capital engineering solution of up to $100M asset cost – both the scoping and program set up as well as the execution of the program of works.
  • Strong technical water background in pipework, pumps and borefield design and delivery
  • Lead a technical team of people – both contractors and internal employees to produce a completed engineering study.
  • Interface with Operations (Mine, Processing and Rail) to ensure asset owner requirements are factored into any solution.
  • Interface with key engineering contractors and service suppliers to understand current market landscape and ensure correct skillsets are identified.
  • Collaborate with commercial personnel to tender, evaluate, award various Purchase and Contracts that may be necessary to undertake the works.
  • Work with Finance as necessary, including but not limited to financial evaluations.
  • Develop and present solutions and business cases to the HanRoy Senior Leadership to secure capital funding. [Outline the measurable $ impact this position will have on the organisation.  If there is no $ value associated with the position simply reflect this by writing “Nil”.]
  • Understand, review and incorporate industry current best practice into engineering designs and concepts.
  • Oversee and manage the Project Management Contractor (PMC) as the key contact and responsible person to perform construction management of the project scope.

 

Essential

  • +10 years’ experience & demonstrated capability in a major project or study environment including project management in engineering.
  • Experience in construction/ design management / Package management of dewatering / reinjection water networks.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil or Mining)
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering design and capital initiation and delivery process as a principal engineer or equivalent.
  • +5 years’ experience in mining operations comprising of a dewatering requirements spanning mine and processing.
  • +5 years’ experience in engineering concept design within a mining environment.
  • Experience in construction/ design management / Package management of major Bulk earthworks.
  • Chartered professional engineer.
