About the Role:
The Construction Superintendent for the Mulga Downs project is responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site activities during the project early works and readiness for the construction project . Reporting directly to the Project Director, this  FIFO role involves coordinating subcontractors, managing resources, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations, ensuring works are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. 

 


Role Responsibilities:

  • Exploration and Tenement Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and communicate technical information effectively. Build positive relationships with regulatory authorities, landowners, and local communities.
  • Subcontractor Supervision: Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and site labor to ensure that all work is performed efficiently and meets project timelines.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards to protect workers, equipment, and the environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections.
  • Schedule Management: Monitor and adjust the project schedule as necessary to accommodate weather conditions, delivery timelines, and unforeseen challenges. Ensure milestones are met for key phases of the project.
  • Communication: Act as the primary on-site liaison between the Perth Project Team , technical advisors, quality team and subcontractors. Provide regular updates on project status, site challenges, and progress.
  • Problem-Solving: Quickly resolve any on-site issues, including personnel /contractor performance , delays in material delivery, or site access challenges. Ensure any project changes are communicated and implemented effectively.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of project progress, daily logs, safety inspections, and any incidents or delays. Submit regular reports to the Project Director .

 

About You:

  • It is essential you  have a thorough understanding of large mining construction projects and are capable of managing projects in remote or challenging environments.
  • You will be able to fulfil the requirements of the appointed Senior Site Executive (SSE) as per the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
  • You will ideally have previous experience or be able to be appointed site Quarry Manager as per the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 as required.
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering disciplines, Construction Management or a Trade Certificate obtained in  heavy industry, construction or mining
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage on-site teams and subcontractors, ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • White Card and valid Driver's licence
  • Ability to work on a 15/13 FIFO roster during early works with capacity to change as the project ramps up.
  • Flexibility to work as needed to meet project deadlines.
