Construction Project Manager

About the role:
Reporting to the Project Director, this role requires the client - side Construction Project Manager to monitor and manage the design and construction activities on the project. This is an iconic project located in West Perth which will provide the successful applicant with further experience and exposure to a high-end office redevelopment. You will ensure management and completion of this commercial project is delivered in accordance with the project requirements, within time and cost constraints to achieve delivery objectives.
Key duties:
- Manage specific functions of design, procurement and construction via the regular reviews of progress, quality and costs. Oversee the commissioning and handover phases on the project.
- Manage the design team, contractor design documentation and technical query process to insure timely delivery and approval of the relevant design information.
- Deliver quality assurance and quality control administration in accordance with the contract.
- Ensure there is compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as amended from time to time, always including the adoption of safe working practices in accordance with Occupational Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements
- Handle complaints, negotiate disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts, to establish preferred business outcomes in and across the project.
- Oversee and monitor the performance of the main contractor and direct subcontractors through constantly reviewing their performance.
- Project manage functions including but not limited to scheduling; cost control; reporting; prepare and administer contract documents including cost; quality and time related issues; maintain project cost control procedures; liaise with engineering personnel.
- Manage variations by analysing the implications of scope change on issues such as cost, safety, quality, and schedule.
To be a success in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or related discipline.
- Multi-discipline commercial construction experience on projects $100m + is essential
- Experience with managing documentation at each milestone of the project lifecycle through construction, to practical completion and final certificate.
- Experience managing Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) trades from design to commissioning
- Previous experience in hospitality or retail construction.
- Client-side project management / PMO experience in complex projects.
